All staff members have Red Cross First Aid training and all tours carry provisions for emergencies. Part of our scouting process is to familiarize ourselves with the locations of hospitals and emergency locations. At no time are we more than 1 hour from a physician. Mexico has a robust nationwide 911 system (yes, the number is the same as other countries).
More importantly, we work to minimize the need for medical help by inspecting the motorcycles and vans daily, from tires to mechanical systems. If anything needs to be addressed or repaired, we will do it immediately, or take it out of service and make sure you can continue your trip without an interruption.
A copy of the safety plan will be provided for you upon arrival in Mexico.
By the way… don’t forget your helmet! It’s mandatory on all Mexico by Moto trips. We take several moments throughout the day to discuss riding styles, and habits and offer tips to make sure everyone is safe and has a great time.
Lastly, I want to address the old question, is Mexico safe? Yes is my simple answer, but I’ll try to explain myself a little more. The destinations and roads we take are the same ones that thousands of Mexican families use with their families everyday. We have scouted the routes we ride so we look for roads that are in good shape, and are fun to ride. We visit family friendly destinations and aren’t looking for trouble. I’ve lived in Cities across the US and in small town America too. I have never felt uncomfortable in Mexico, and we hope you have the same experience.
